Salary:

Appointment will be made on (€42.338- €62,489 LSI) at a point in line with Government pay policy. 

Hours of work: 

Full Tiem 35 hours per week

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Chief Vascular Physiologist the appointee will undertake duties appropriate to a Basic Grade Vascular Physiologist

 

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Perform and Report on Vascular studies ordered by Medical Staff. All vascular investigations performed in the Non-invasive Vascular Unit including: Peripheral flow studies and treadmill testing. Duplex and colour flow ultrasonic imaging

 

To perform and report on multiple Non-Invasive Vascular Investigations including:

 

(a)Doppler ultrasound and pressure measurements for upper and lower arterial disease

 

(b)Duplex ultrasonic Imaging of:

 

(i)Arterial and Venous systems of the upper and Lower limbs

 

(ii) Carotid and Vertebral and trans-cranial vessels

 

(iii) Abdominal arteries and veins

 

 

General Responsibilities:

 

(i) Carrying out test ordered by medical staff

 

(ii)Recording of patient relevant case histories

 

(iii)Report and communicate diagnostic findings

 

(iv)Contribute to the development of the unit.

 

(v) Undertake care, maintenance, cleaning and decontamination of all equipment in the Vascular Unit.

 

Following discussion and where necessary the post holder may be asked to undertake other appropriate duties when necessary for the efficient running of the Department.

Qualifications

 

Selection Criteria: 

Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post. 

Applications will be assessed on the basis of how well candidates satisfy these criteria.

 

Mandatory:

(i)Posses BSc in Clinical Measurement from the Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent qualification as confirmed by the Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP)

 

OR

 

 (ii)Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) form the Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent qualification as confirmed by the Institute of Clinical Measurement Science(IIMCS)

 

OR

 

(iii) Possess an equivalent  relevant scientific qualification as confirmed by the Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP)

 

 

Desirable:

Experience working in a busy Vascular Unit
